It sure feels like winter is approaching fast. Last Friday may have been the last true moments of autumn, with crunchy leaves and crisp (dry) air. So I'm so glad that was when I got together with Landen and his parents at Campbell Valley Park for some family photos. We had a lot of fun - as you can see, Landen has quite the personality! Here's a look at what we did. Enjoy!

I enjoyed the sunshine today as I photographed the Silvester-Lee family. They will soon be moving to the other side of town, so this was a bit of a farewell to their house and fabulous garden. Sunshine, beautiful flowers, and big smiles - what more could a photographer ask for? What a great afternoon!
I "finished" editing the Gibbs wedding photos a few days ago. As any photographer will understand, I could have kept going forever, because it's so much fun to play with photos of beautiful, happy people!
I had a few people ask if I would post a few more photos, and I am happy to oblige. I also want to send a big thank-you to Jessica Dherari Photography for the awesome second shooting that day. So far I've weeded out over 1500 photos from the Gibbs wedding folder, but that still leaves over 1000 photos to edit. Phew! Luckily, I should be done in a few days. To whet Lisa and Chris's appetites, here are a few more sneak peeks. Enjoy!
I was at Peace Arch Hospital today for a mini photo shoot with the staff of Reid's Pharmasave. They're promoting their support of a healthy lifestyle by participating in events like the Pumpkin Run/Walk, which supports the hospital. It was a hot afternoon, but they were a fun group. The only challenge was that they kept laughing, which is not a bad problem to have! The group looked great - but not far away, someone else's health was in question. As I was finishing, an RCMP officer asked if I would take a photo nearby, where she had found a dog sitting in a parked truck with all the windows rolled up. She had opened the truck so the dog wouldn't overheat, and thankfully the dog was in good spirits, although quiet. I was happy to oblige and promised to send the photo to the Peace Arch News, who hopefully will run it with a reminder to not leave animals or children in closed vehicles in hot weather! I know we were in front of the ER, and so the offending person might be dealing with something big and honestly forgot about the dog, but it only takes minutes for animals to overheat in this weather. And it only takes a few seconds to lower a window. Or, better yet, don't take your pet if you know they will have to sit in the car. How sad would it be to have a good outcome in the ER, only to find your pet in distress (or worse)?
Okay, end of rant. Can you tell I'm an animal lover? It's 1:30am, but I wanted to share a few random photos from today's wedding. Newlyweds Chris and Lisa looked fabulous, and the whole day was a happy and spirited celebration of their love.
On to some randomly-selected photos...stay tuned for more! I had a great time yesterday with the Kittons, roaming all over historic Stewart Farmhouse. The variety of things to see and do helped keep the boys' energy up, and they did a great job mugging for the camera for almost two hours. (Mom, Dad and Grandpa did not so bad themselves!) We shared the spot with a bunch of rowers on the river and a wedding party taking their own pictures. A great day overall, and here are a few photos to prove it.
This past week I had the opportunity to explore the photographic possibilities of White Rock Beach with aspiring actress Kaitlyn. I have taken literally thousands of photos of this beach in the past, but my lens was always pointed towards the "trinity:" the ocean, the "rock", and Mou. This was a great opportunity to hunt for interesting portrait backdrops - and we found lots! As long as your model is willing to get a bit sandy and to get a few funny looks from the tourists, there are many great photos to be had at White Rock Beach, as our 100+ final images prove. Thanks to Kaitlyn for a great shoot - and the delicious fish'n'chips afterwards!
